One of our favorite Craftsman elements is the tapered columns that sit on a half-wall.  We spent months trying to figure out how to incorporate this element into our new design.
This is what we are going for:

The gas company stubbed the gas line in from the road. We will be running the furnace, water heater, dryer, stove and grill off of natural gas.
All of the boiler pipes and radiators had to be cut out of broken to get out of the house.  These pictures show less than half of what was removed.  Off to the salvage yard!

This weekend Katie and I roofed the addition, house wrap was installed and the windows and doors were set.
All of the headers for the interior walls have been put in and the new rooms have been framed.

The addition is really taking shape this week.
